Understanding Parts Work
Parts Work therapy is a warm and curious way of understanding your inner life. My approach is IFS-informed, meaning I draw on the principles of Internal Family Systems to help you meet the different 'parts' of yourself with compassion rather than judgment. Whether it's a harsh inner critic or a part that feels overwhelmed, we work together to understand their positive intent and move toward a state of inner harmony and Self-leadership.
The IFS-Informed Approach
I blend IFS frameworks, like recognizing our protectors and exiles, with other relational and somatic modalities. This creates a flexible, grounded space where we don't just talk about your struggles, but actively engage with the inner system that holds them. We look for “Self,” that core place of calm and clarity within you, and bring that presence to the parts of you that have been carrying heavy burdens for a long time.
The Benefits
Less Inner Conflict
Learn to navigate the push-and-pull of competing desires, helping you feel more aligned and integrated in your decisions.
Inner Self-Compassion
Develop a warmer, more curious relationship with your internal world, moving away from harsh judgment toward understanding.
More Choice
By understanding your automatic 'protector' responses, you gain the space to respond to life with more intention and agency.
Emotional Resilience
Build a stable capacity to remain grounded even when difficult emotions or 'parts' feel overwhelming or stuck.
Deeper Self-Trust
Cultivate access to your 'Self'—the calm, clear center that can guide your healing process and life choices.
Relational Ease
As you heal inner wounds, you may find your relationships feel less reactive and more authentic and connected.
